The formula
Cubic feet = L × W × (depth ÷ 12). Cubic yards = cu ft ÷ 27. A standard bag holds 2 cu ft.
Worked example
20 × 4 ft × 3" = 20 cu ft ≈ 0.74 cu yd = 10 bags of 2 cu ft.
